Movie-- Mirch (Hindi)
Starring-- Konkana Sen Sharma, Boman Irani, Rajpal Yadav, Raima Sen, Shreyas Talpade, Arunoday Singh.
Director-- Vinay Shukla
Mirch is a bold attempt to potray the darker side of women with stronger fragrance of the desire of their feminity. It paints women's fragility, vulnerability, cannyness and bold nature on the canvas of reality. Its a collection of 4 short stories (inspired by Panchathantra, as claimed in the movie) based on extra-marital affairs with sex as a strong under current theme. First two stories are based in ancient backdrop, during the times of Kings and the next two are set in modern-era. The temperature soars high during 2nd story and the excitement peaks during the 3rd story and the 4th story treats you with a twist.
One should appreciate Director for taking up this bold subject. The way he interweaves these 4 stories on screen shows a realistic approach of modern cinema. These kind of stories need a tight screenplay, at which Director falters.
Arunoday Singh as the main protagonist looks handsome, but has limited scope for performance. Others fit their roles well. Konkana and Boman carry their roles with usual elan. The conversations between Konkana and her maid in the 2nd story scream for attention. Raima Sen sizzles as the seductress cheating wife. Shreyas Talpade is wasted.

Overall, its a timepass flick and would cater to young couples who romance in empty theatres. Watchout for the sizzzling chemistry between Arunoday Singh and Raima Sen in the 3rd story. Sex sells...!!!
